F1 and F2 - Ready to Move!
Sat 11 Jul 2015F1 and F2 - Ready to Move!
It has been such an exciting week for the older F1 children and F2 who have been looking forward to Transition day; there was just a tiny bit of apprehension, but they all coped brilliantly and were bursting to tell us all about their new class and teacher! They feel so grown up now. The younger F1 children met our friends the Beat Babies and were enthralled - the Beat Babies told them which group they would be in—Bees or Ladybirds. They started to paint their own bee or ladybird, ready for next year; sang some songs; showed off their numeracy skills and, of course, had fun learning and socialising through play. They were ready for a rest at home time! Miss Frisby and Mrs Fenton were very proud of them. Next year’s F2 met their new teachers, Miss Hopkinson and Mrs P . They were kept very busy indeed. To top all their hard work and play, they stayed for a delicious school lunch and coped very well with the new experience. Well done!
In F2 this week the children have been practising their assembly—I am sure parents and carers loved it! The children have also squeezed in lots of literacy and numeracy, too. They have completed some independent writes; worked on their numbers; used their sequencing and speaking skills to tell the story of The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch and fitted in some choosing time along with the Transition Day. WOW!

F1 - Let’s Twist Again!
Sat 11 Jul 2015F1 - Let’s Twist Again!
The F1 children (morning and afternoon) treated us to a fantastic assembly. The children showed off the many skills they have been learning in F1. Every morning they warm up their brains and fingers, with finger rhymes, so that they can write their names. They demonstrated that they knew all the positional words and acted out The 3 Billy Goats Gruff story, accompanied by some beautiful singing: I’m a troll fol-de-roll, and I’ll eat you for supper! We love Caterpillar Music and Suretots where we improve our listening skills and motor skills. Parents and carers were able to practise their listening and movement skills, too when they were handed ribbons and joined in with Let’s Twist Again - after the first few moments they threw caution to the wind and showed us some amazing moves, with and without the ribbons! Thank you F1 for such a lovely and entertaining assembly—you were all FANTASTIC!

What do you think to them?
The calm waves flow by
Drifting away into dark
Approaching rapids
As it gets close to the mouth
As sundown goes to meet night.
By Blythe and Patrick
Sounds of the Sea
The angelic sounds
Are so beautiful and calm
As the gentle waves
Flow over the shining sea
A beautiful sight it is
By Molly McKay-Smith and Alex Shaw
The moon's reflection
Shines brightly on the ocean
Creatures lurk below
The waves roar like a lion
What a magnificent sight

Journey to the afterlife
Calm transparent waves
Peacefully floating away
Splashing in the ocean blue
