F1 and F2 - Ready to Move!
It has been such an exciting week for the older F1 children and F2 who have been looking forward to Transition day; there was just a tiny bit of apprehension, but they all coped brilliantly and were bursting to tell us all about their new class and teacher! They feel so grown up now. The younger F1 children met our friends the Beat Babies and were enthralled - the Beat Babies told them which group they would be in—Bees or Ladybirds. They started to paint their own bee or ladybird, ready for next year; sang some songs; showed off their numeracy skills and, of course, had fun learning and socialising through play. They were ready for a rest at home time! Miss Frisby and Mrs Fenton were very proud of them. Next year’s F2 met their new teachers, Miss Hopkinson and Mrs P . They were kept very busy indeed. To top all their hard work and play, they stayed for a delicious school lunch and coped very well with the new experience. Well done!
In F2 this week the children have been practising their assembly—I am sure parents and carers loved it! The children have also squeezed in lots of literacy and numeracy, too. They have completed some independent writes; worked on their numbers; used their sequencing and speaking skills to tell the story of The Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch and fitted in some choosing time along with the Transition Day. WOW!
