A Fond Farewell from Langold Dyscarr Community School!

The whole school and governors, gathered to wish our 4 members of staff who were leaving us, Mrs Bellingham, Mrs Fearnley, Miss Marsh and Miss Napper, all the very best in the new stages of their life and careers.

The children paid their tributes in lots of different ways : with art work, reciting poems, singing, acting out little sketches and sharing personal memories of each of the staff.

Mrs Bellingham worked at LDCS  for almost 10 years, during which time she was never satisfied with anything but the best for the school in all the areas in which she worked. Enjoy your rest - we wish you well with whatever you decide to do in the future!

Mrs Fearnley, who kept Year 6 on task, encouraging and driving them to achieve their best in all areas of school life, was treated to a musical tribute from the children. In recognition of her many excellent Year 6 musical productions, children from each year group chose to perform one song from each show. Thank you for the music and good luck with your next endeavours!

Miss Marsh, “...that funny teacher - everyone wants to be in Miss Marsh’s class”, has left us with many special and funny memories. The children shared their ‘special moments with Miss Marsh’. Their tributes reflected her many qualities, including her unique delivery of the French language! Bonne chance, Mademoiselle Marsh!

Miss Napper not only moved onto a new teaching post, but also got married on the first day of the  summer holiday. Congratulations! Miss Napper was treated to a rendition from the choir of I’m getting married in the morning! Miss Napper’s caring, nurturing nature and dedicated teaching was reflected in the children’s memories of her.

We wish all of you the very best - you will always be part of the Langold Dyscarr Community School family!

    Fantastic Start for F2!

F2 have had a fantastic start to school life! They were brilliant on their first day, finding their pegs and names. The teachers were very impressed with how well some children can write their names already! The children have been busy learning our new routines and exploring the different areas. They have been fantastic at lunch time, tucking into their lovely lunch and playing in the big playground. Our teachers have been staying close by to check we are ok, but we have made lots of friends already, especially our Year 6 ‘buddies’. We had a Wednesday Walkabout and had a good look around school. We saw lots of other classrooms and we all squeezed into Mr Pullin’s office—it was lots of fun! In our first gymnastics lesson we learnt how to sit like a gymnast using 3 positions: pike, straddle and tuck. We can’t wait for next week and the exciting learning challenges ahead!

  • F1—An Exciting Year Ahead!

    F1—An Exciting Year Ahead!

It’s so exciting that we are facing another amazing year in F1. Some of our friends are staying with us for another year and they have grown up so much over the holidays. They are being really kind to all their new friends and have remembered all the nursery rules and are enthusiastically showing our new friends what we do in nursery. Of course we all miss the F1s that are now in F2, but we see them all the time for frequent hugs and there are lots of smiling faces as they settle into their new home with the help of their fabulous teachers.

Our new F1 friends have settled into nursery life very well and are already learning the new routines and becoming  very independent. Logan gave his friends paper towels to help them dry their hands; he is so kind! Freya, Delilah and Halle love painting and always make sure they wear an apron. Oliver, Henri and Jack enjoy playing in the water and remember to push their sleeves up their arms so their jumpers don’t get wet! Maiya and Annalise are very good at knowing what nursery rhymes we are going to sing when we show them the characters in the special bag! Aurora and Zuzanna really enjoy the home corner where they make us delicious dinners after they have answered the phone, of course!

I can’t wait to see what next week brings as they become even more confident! Don’t forget to share your reading book at home and sign the reading diaries when you have read together.

We are off to Southwell Minster on Monday, with Surestart, on a Forest School Adventure. It’s a long day for our little friends but I know that they will have an exciting time pursuing all the different activities that lay ahead. I bet you can’t wait to hear all about it!

Please look at our blog and meet all our new friends. Please leave a comment.
