A Fond Farewell To Mrs Leeman!

We all gathered together in assembly to wish Mrs Leeman a fond and emotional farewell. Each of the year groups shared their memories of Mrs Leeman in their own special way.                                                                                                                                                                                                               F2 recited their acrostic poem: Marvellous, Remarkable, Super, Lovely, Excellent, Epic, Maths-brain, Amazing, Nice!

Year 1 went on a Teacher Hunt ( hunting for Mrs Leeman):                                                                       We are going on a Teacher Hunt  -  We are going to catch a great one!

Mrs Leeman’s/Miss Napper’s Year 2 had many messages, amongst them: There  is no one like a special teacher and there is no one as special as you!

Mrs Neal’s Year 2 performed their song, We’ll miss you, Mrs Leeman, to the music of Frère Jacques!

Complete with ‘air guitar’ and ‘air drums’ Miss Marsh’s Year 3/4 gave us a lively performance of  Living on a prayer!

Mr Hoult’s Year3/4 shared their memories through a poem:                                                                   You taught me well, you gave so much…

Miss Bradford’s Year 5 also shared their memories and ended with: When you need us remember Langold’s your second home—you’ll always be in our hearts!

Miss Ward’s Year 5 also wrote a poem with advice for Mrs Leeman: You don’t have to worry…

Year 6, to the tune of Granddad, wrote and sang their own special song…                                           Mrs Leeman we love you. You are always making crafty things and loads of cups of tea...

Our Head Boy and Head Girl summed up our feelings:  Mrs Leeman we’ll miss you!

Good luck in your retirement, Mrs Leeman!!!

    Special Delivery for F2

On Monday, F2 were surprised and very excited to receive a very special letter, not just any ordinary letter...

Waiting for them, in their classrooms, were 2 pieces of bark, each with a message from The Wild Things who would like to meet them!!!!

F2 have found some time, in their very busy timetable, to write their own letters in reply, which we will post on to the Wild Things. We are hoping to be able to meet  the Wild Things in Dyscarr Wood! Watch this space...

Miss Napper brought some Australian things in to show us including a boomerang, animal road signs, a story book and a didgeridoo. Everyone who wanted to, had a chance to have a go on Miss Napper's didgeridoo, it makes a  really loud noise! We had a look at some pictures of what Australia is like. We all made a passport and completed a travel journal entry for our first week in Australia.  It was lots of fun.

    Myths and Legends

This half term, Year 5 have been looking at myths, legends and fables. During a Literacy lesson they began to create their own legend and Leighton began excellently!                                                             In ancient times in a valley in Cairo, a  pyramid stood tall and straight by the mighty river Nile. Suddenly, a Cyclops threatened to demolish the majestic pyramid. However, a brave Pharaoh called Tutankhamen decided to stop the Cyclops. Even though he knew it would be dangerous, he was brave. He got a sling shot and a stone and blinded the Cyclops in the eye!

    Fantastic work, Leighton!
