Welcome Back!
Fri 09 Sep 2016Welcome back!
I hope you’ve had a great summer and been able to spend quality time with your families whether at home or on holiday. If you’re new to our school community, you are very welcome. We look forward to getting to know you better over the weeks and months ahead. Starting a new school, new year group or even moving into a new area can always be a bit of a nervy experience so if you have any questions at all, please do speak to a member of staff. We want you to feel as at home as possible, as soon as possible.
I would also like to welcome the new staff who have started with us this year. They are settling in to the Langold team really well. As a reminder, we have:
Mrs Reynolds: school business manager
Mrs Emery: Y6A
Mr Hays: Y4
Miss Wilson: Y1
Ms Ahmed: F2/Reception
This year will bring lots of exciting new experiences. In the first day assembly, I talked about ‘doors of opportunity’ that we can either walk through or not (I also talked about trying to get cats through cat flaps that they didn’t want to go through but you had to be there!). How good this year will be will depend on how willing we are to make the most of the positive opportunities presented to us – here we go! Mr Pullin

A Fond Farewell from Langold Dyscarr Community School!
Fri 09 Sep 2016A Fond Farewell from Langold Dyscarr Community School!
The whole school and governors, gathered to wish our 4 members of staff who were leaving us, Mrs Bellingham, Mrs Fearnley, Miss Marsh and Miss Napper, all the very best in the new stages of their life and careers.
The children paid their tributes in lots of different ways : with art work, reciting poems, singing, acting out little sketches and sharing personal memories of each of the staff.
Mrs Bellingham worked at LDCS for almost 10 years, during which time she was never satisfied with anything but the best for the school in all the areas in which she worked. Enjoy your rest - we wish you well with whatever you decide to do in the future!
Mrs Fearnley, who kept Year 6 on task, encouraging and driving them to achieve their best in all areas of school life, was treated to a musical tribute from the children. In recognition of her many excellent Year 6 musical productions, children from each year group chose to perform one song from each show. Thank you for the music and good luck with your next endeavours!
Miss Marsh, “...that funny teacher - everyone wants to be in Miss Marsh’s class”, has left us with many special and funny memories. The children shared their ‘special moments with Miss Marsh’. Their tributes reflected her many qualities, including her unique delivery of the French language! Bonne chance, Mademoiselle Marsh!
Miss Napper not only moved onto a new teaching post, but also got married on the first day of the summer holiday. Congratulations! Miss Napper was treated to a rendition from the choir of I’m getting married in the morning! Miss Napper’s caring, nurturing nature and dedicated teaching was reflected in the children’s memories of her.
We wish all of you the very best - you will always be part of the Langold Dyscarr Community School family!
