We need your help...
Sun 07 Sep 2014We need your help… Our quad area is looking rather overgrown and untidy at the moment and we would love some help to sort it out. If you are a green fingered volunteer with an hour or two to spare we would really appreciate it.

F2 - Lots of Fun and Work
Sun 07 Sep 2014F2 - Lots of Fun and Work
Welcome to our new F2 starters: Alex Neil, Maisy Radford, Ava Rawson, Thomas Sargeson and Faith Smith.
As part of their summer homework on their topic, ‘Ourselves’, our F2 children were asked to collect some things to go inside a shoebox that would help Miss Frisby and Mrs P. get to know them. Some of our F2 children brought in some fantastic boxes, on their first day at school, which they were able to share with the whole group. Thank you to everyone who helped to make up the boxes. It was very exciting finding out what was inside!

A Very Busy Week in FSU
Sun 20 Jul 2014A Very Busy Week in FSU

We are very proud in Foundation because 3 of our friends received their Proficiency Certificate and Badge 8 in gymnastics. Well done, Izobel, Rosie and Isabelle!

We have been learning about the story of Noah in foundation. F2 acted out the story on the stage in the big playground. We all sang the Rainbow song at the end and signed along to it.

In Caterpillar Music we went to the beach and played volleyball and surfed the ocean waves.
It was lots of fun!!
World Cup Day in FSU

FSU have been learning about Italy for World Cup Day; we made pizzas and the Italian flag. The pizzas were delicious and we even had ice cream for pudding.
We turned the ‘Home Corner’ into an Italian café and we took our friends’ orders. Spaghetti Bolognaise was very popular!

A French Afternoon for Year 3
Sun 20 Jul 2014
A French Afternoon for Year 3And finally, Year 3 spent a French afternoon using their language skills to play a French board game, Le Tour de France; using a French ‘app’ on the Kindles followed by some French food tasting. They voted le pain au chocolat as their favourite food, closely followed by French Brie cheese. Délicieux! Their lesson ended by singing along to some French songs. Thank you to the Y6 helpers!

Championnat de Boules 2014
Sun 20 Jul 2014
Le Championnat de Boules
The French theme continued on Wednesday when we held the annual French Boules Final. In Mediterranean, summer-style, weather our 4 KS2 finalists, Keira Year 3,Elby Year 4, Joe Year 5 and Billy Year 6, took to the arena and gave the spectators a very close-scoring competition full of good sportsmanship and determination. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as the KS2 crowd cheered and encouraged their year representative. Our 2014 Champion de Boules is Keira Bowskill, Year 3. Well done, Keira. Bravo!

Allez Langold - Le Tour de Langold
Sun 20 Jul 2014
Allez, Langold !
There has been a strong Gallic feel around school this week. We started with Le Tour de Langold which saw KS1 and KS2 children cycle around the gruelling course which took our cyclists past many landmarks, including the Yorkshire Dales, Langold Chip Shop, Big Ben, across La Manche (the English Channel—at the school field gate), into the green pastures of France and past La Tour Eiffel. All the landmarks (painted by our talented Year 6) added to the atmosphere. Mrs Wendon was the stylish trail-blazer of the course (her only worry—would her non-lycra outfit stand up to the course!). The rest of the ‘year peletons’ followed enthusiastically, cheered on and encouraged by a very vociferous crowd chanting Allez! Allez! Allez! Well done to everyone. We saw lots of good sportsmanship, determination and resilience! Fantastique!! FSU also held their own exciting Tour de Langold. As in the Le Tour de France, our outstanding cyclists were awarded with their Maillot Jaune.
