May we introduce our new Pupil Leadership Team...
Sun 14 Dec 2014May we introduce our new Pupil Leadership Team…
Mrs Huthart was very proud to present our new Pupil Leadership Team to the rest of the school. 18 children put their names forward to be considered for the role of Head Boy and Head Girl; they then had to give a short speech (a very daunting experience!), to the rest of the school in assembly, saying why they wanted to be considered. All of the children in KS1 and KS2 then voted for the Head Boy and Head Girl. 8 children attracted a lot of the votes so Mrs Huthart appointed 4 Head Ambassadors, each in charge of their own Team of Ambassadors, a Deputy-head Boy and Deputy-head Girl, and Head Boy and Head Girl. Mrs Huthart presented each of the successful candidates with their new badges.
Head Ambassadors:
Millie Watkinson Codie Storer
Elby Perkins Seth Wheeler
Deputy-head Boy/Girl :
Alfie Perkins Lia Watson
Head Boy - Jay Myers
Head Girl - Kelsey Bowskill
Well done, YOU make us PROUD!

What Have Our FSU Children Been Up To?
Sun 07 Dec 2014What Have Our FSU Children Been Up To?
This week we have been busy practising for our Nativity that took place on Friday at 10am and 2pm. We were so excited to share our singing and acting with you :-) Did you enjoy our performance? This week in F2, we have been labelling our story map in literacy and we have been listening to and writing all the sounds that we could hear in each word. In F1 we sequenced the story of Cinderella.
In numeracy, F2 concentrated on numbers and looked at objects; we estimated how many there were and wrote the number on our white boards, on our friend’s back or even with our magic pencil in the air. We concentrated really hard, making sure that the formation of each number was correct :-) . We also counted objects and found the correct numeral to represent them.
F1 children have been ordering numbers and we have some very clever children who can order up to 20!
In Caterpillar Music we all started to get into the Christmas spirit, some of us even ‘flew’ through the air on a reindeer!

What Can We Create Using Our Sewing Skills?
Sun 07 Dec 2014What Can We Create Using Our Sewing Skills?
The children in Year 5 are currently practising their sewing skills; they are building up to making a patchwork quilt at the end of the half term. Last week we practised blanket and running stitch and we made a simple game of tic-tac-toe. Well done Year 5. Year 5's topic this term is Alaskan Adventures. Look at the fantastic Igloo that Kaitlin Whitehead made with her Granddad. Very well done!!
