F2 - Oh I Do Like To Be By The Seaside...!
Sat 02 Jul 2016F2 - Oh I Do Like To Be By The Seaside...!
Sounds, smells, textures and lots and lots of fun at the seaside - we had it all in F2 this week! We started the week with a mystery bus journey around school with Miss White at the wheel — but oh no, we came to a halt with a puncture and had to phone for emergency help! Elliott took charge of the phone call to Mr smith and told him, in a very clear voice, that we had “broken down and we are in the Quad at Langold Dyscarr Community School”. Whilst we waited for the puncture to be repaired, Ms Clark read them The Mousehole Cat - was this a clue as to where F2 were going on their journey? Finally, we arrived back at F2 only to find it had been transformed into the seaside along with sand, pools to paddle in, an ice cream parlour, a beach hut, deck chairs, parasols, beach balls, inflatables, beach towels, the sound of waves and even real smelly fish!!! We have loved our seaside experience; we even had an ice cream and freshly-made candy floss and rock. All our literacy and numeracy has been based around the seaside theme - it has generated so much fantastic language and imagination! And what better way to end our trip to the seaside than with some fish and chips, prepared for us by our cook Sarah, and Annette and shared together? Thanks to Mr P, too, for making our splendid beach hut - the children have loved it!
We have had some more fantastic gymnastics to celebrate. This week, Clayton achieved his Level 8 Proficiency Badge and Certificate. Well done, Clayton!
We have also been measuring the sunflowers we planted—why not check our blog? We would love you to post a comment!
We would like to say a huge thank you to Miss Bromage who, over the past few months, has not only worked with us but has donated many ‘extras’ for our children, including the loan of the popcorn and candyfloss-making machines. The children and staff have loved working with her!
