Protected Characteristics
Protected Characteristics
At Langold Dyscarr Community School, we believe that everyone should feel safe, valued, and respected. As part of our commitment to equality and kindness, we teach children about protected characteristics—important parts of who we are that the law says must be respected. These include:
- Age
- Disability
- Gender reassignment
- Marriage and civil partnership
- Pregnancy and maternity
- Race
- Religion or belief
- Sex (whether someone is male or female)
- Sexual orientation
By learning about these, we help children understand the importance of treating everyone fairly, standing up to discrimination, and celebrating the differences that make our school community so special.
