What Makes Britain Great?

What Makes Britain Great?

As a class, Year 6A have been talking about British Diversity and what an amazing county we live in. We have been learning about tolerance and mutual respect of others. (Not just religious but also life style choices.) Rule of law (why laws exist, why they are important and what can happen if they are broken.) Liberty ( we can leave the country to travel, we can hold any job we put our mind to and we are educated in a safe environment.) Democracy ( Freedom of choice, no decisions are made by one person, majority rules.)

Here are a few examples of why Year 6A think Britain is Great:

Why is Britain Great?

Britain is great because we have a free NHS care and the support from doctors and nurses. We get free education and are all entitled to learn in a safe, caring environment. We get the opportunity to vote in decisions about our country and are innocent until proven guilty in the court of law. We live in tolerance and mutual respect of different religions and cultures. (Lucie Martin)

Why is Britain Great?

We live in a mostly peaceful country and respect other’s religion, skin tone, language or life style choices. We get the opportunity to vote on important decisions that effect our country and lives such as leaving or staying in the European Union. We have some of the fairest laws in the world and are innocent until proven guilty. (Aimee Stephenson)

Why is Britain Great?

Britain is great because we have the right to freedom. We are allowed to make choices that affect us. We are tolerant of different religions and males and females are equal in worth. We marry for love rather than arrangement and gain a good, free education to help us get better jobs later in life. (Kaceylou Harrison)
