Welcome to Carpenter Bee Class – Year 6!

Our School Day starts at 8.40am, breaktime is at 10.15am and lunch is at 12.15pm. Our School Day finishes at 3.10pm. 

Our PE days are Tuesday and Wednesday. Please make sure you bring a jacket as this could be outside.

Our daily expectations:

• Reading diary and reading book in every day with evidence of daily reading - signed in your diary! 
• Target times tables and KIRFs to be practised daily.
• Any work sent home to be attempted and returned. 
• Full PE Kit and appropriate shoes to be worn on PE days (Tuesday and Wednesday)

Autumn Term – The Victorians 

For all of you, this will be your last year at Langold and we want to make it the very best it can be and leave you with plenty of learning and memories! 

This Autumn term, we will base most of our learning around The Victorians. We will investigate what life was like for those during the Victorian period, including experiences of workhouses and the reign of Queen Victoria (Corgis included!). 

We are also going to focus on DART, creative writing and building up key knowledge for English & Maths as well as enjoying the classic novel 'Oliver Twist' in our reading for pleasure! 

In Art, our projects will include Victorian patterns and the project 'from a Victorian window'! 

In Science, we will focus on Physics – Light Detectives and Electricity. 

PE lessons will focus on Gymnastics & Hockey in Aut1 and then Dance & Orienteering in Aut2. 

Computing lessons will focus on anti-bullying safety and Coding. 

During PSHEE sessions, we will follow the DART (Drug, Alcohol & Resilience Training) programme for Autumn 1. 

RE will focus on Teachings, Wisdom and Authority as well as the Christmas Story!
