Sketchbook Club

Our young artists can express themselves, experiment with ideas and skills, take risks, and play with materials in their sketchbooks. The confidence of our artists to express greater creative control over the avenues they wish to take their art, as they would be expected to do beyond primary school, is greatly boosted by practising a sketchbook mindset.

In light of this, we encourage our children to build a relationship with their sketchbook giving them access to their sketchbooks outside of art lessons in order to doodle, make observations and imagine.

Each lunch time all artists in KS1 and KS2 are invited to join sketchbook club. Children are welcome to bring their sketchbook into the playground, for open-ended exploration in their mini-sketchbooks. FS2 also have access to this club, using art materials which are available during their lunch time.
