Karate with Hidden Dragon

Karate with Hidden Dragon 1

Karate with Sensei Tony and Sensei Julie from Hidden Dragon, improves self-confidence, self-discipline, co-ordination and self-esteem, whilst learning how to look after yourself and loved ones should the need arise. Children can work through their belts at the after school club. Years 4,5 and 6 also have the chance to gain more skills and knowledge in their PE sessions as it on on the curriculum.

We have an after school football club and take part in our local league.

Cooking Club

Cooking Club 1

Cooking club will take place every Wednesday from 3.15 - 4.10 with Mrs Emery.

Sept- Dec will be for KS1

Jan- April will be for KS2

Please note that places are limited to 6 children and each course lasts 6 weeks.

Menu for KS1:

Week 1: Speedy pizza with a selection of toppings.

Week 2: Apricot and coconut muffins

Week 3: Omelette with a variety of fillings.

Week 4: Apple and Rhubarb crumble. (Thank you Mrs Silk for the apples from your tree and the rhubarb was grown in school.)

Week 5: Healthy spring rolls and sweetcorn fritters.

Week 6: Chocolate and beetroot brownies.

During the sessions, children will learn health and hygiene, knife skills, cleaning down as well as cooking skills.

Debate Club

Debate Club 1

Debate club will take place Thursday afternoon from 3.15 until 4pm with Mrs Emery. This club is for pupils from KS2.

The children will research current affairs and learn to see the points from every angle. Topics that may be covered, for example are:

Should wild animals be kept in zoos?

Should schools be allowed to dictate what's in a child's lunch box?

Are the Olympics worth the derelict aftermath?
