Phonics 

Write a word using each phoneme. Can you put one of your words into a sentence?

Encourage your child to be as creative and imaginative as they can to answer this fun question. Ask them to write their ideas down in sentences.

Don't forget to use your phonics knowledge, capital letters, finger spaces and full stops!

Identify which words are real by writing them under the heading ‘Treasure Words’ and which words are made-up by writing them under the heading ‘Fake Words’.

Phonics

Use the alphabet mat to say the letter name and sound. Point to a random letter and say 'tell me the sound' or 'tell me the name'. Change what you are looking for each time to increase the challenge.

Get your children to roll a dice and recite the phase three phonemes on the line that matches their number. If you don’t have a dice at home, you could use a random number generator online.

Can you write a sentence or two using both a tricky word and a word from the picture matching game?
