Current

Nicola Davis – Chair of Governors

I have been a school governor at Langold since Jan 2017. I have been Chair since May18.

I am a qualified accountant and have always worked in finance. I have been a Finance Director for over 15 years and currently work as a part time Director for several businesses in Yorkshire . I also run a business with my partner.

Although not a resident of Langold, I have lived in North Nottinghamshire for over 20 years.

I am very proud to be a governor at Langold. It is full of life and the school is very much part of the community.

Mark Roper - Vice Chair & LA Governor

I run my own heating and ventilation business in Ollerton specialising in renewable energy. Prior to this I spent 20 years working in IT for large businesses.

My wife is a primary school teacher in Mansfield and I have a son at University and a daughter taking up a business apprenticeship.

I previously spent 10 years as a governor at my children's primary school, and having a continuing interest in education in September 2017 volunteered through the local authority to be a governor at Langold. I care about all children receiving a rounded education and offering them opportunities in life - things I see every time I visit Langold.

Since 2003, I have worked in schools in and around the Retford/Worksop area in both deputy headteacher and headteacher roles.

I am so very proud of the children here at Langold Dyscarr and value to opportunity to help them fulfil their potential.

Gail Wood

I have lived in Langold for over 17 years and all my 3 children have attended Langold Dyscarr School. I have been involved in many ways with the school since 2000. As well as a parent of children at the school, I have also worked as a TA and currently volunteer in the foundation year.

I have been a school governor for many years and I am also on the committee of the Big Local in Langold, work at the Langold Village Hall and still do some support TA work. I was also part of the PTFA for 10 years.

I am very passionate about Langold School and really enjoy being involved. You will often find me helping at school events and assisting the staff on school trips.

Michelle Neal

I am passionate about improving the children's educational opportunities in Langold and this is one of the reasons why I have worked at the school for over 20 years and been a governor since 2014.

I have worked throughout the primary school but my strengths are in teaching the Early years and Key stage 1.

I am a member of the Senior leadership team and have numerous responsibilities within school that contribute towards raising the attainment for every child in our care..

I am privileged to work with a dedicated group of people, all serving the school in the best interests of our children and families to further improve the opportunities and outcomes for all.

Noor Ahmed

I have over six years’ experience as a teacher.

Through my teaching experience, I have seen how education is such an integral part of our makeup and the direction we take in life. I was keen to be involved and find out more about how the school decide and action what is best for the children. I have been a staff governor since Jan 2018; I have already seen the benefits that the dedicated team at Langold Dyscarr Community School have had. I am excited to be part of this.
